“The passphrase does not match the backups already on the server”

Connecting a PC, or its backups, fail with The passphrase does not match the backups already on the server, or already holds backups protected by a different passphrase.

Why

The server's storage already holds backups made with another passphrase. The PC was connected with a different one, so it cannot open them, and BackupMate will not mix the two.

What to do

Those backups are yours: connect the PC again using the passphrase they were made with.
They are left over from an earlier installation that you no longer need: the server needs a fresh, empty storage folder. Write to us before deleting anything; we will make sure nothing you need is lost.
