Terms of sale

Last updated: 11 October 2026

These terms apply when you buy a BackupMate licence. They sit alongside the licence agreement, which governs how the software may be used, the refund policy and the privacy policy. If you only use the free plan or the trial, you have bought nothing and only the licence agreement applies.

1. Who we are

BackupMate is sold by Pranay Mohite, trading as BuzzNeuron, of Sama-Savli Road, Vadodara 390008, Gujarat, India ("we", "us"). You can reach us at pranay@buzzneuron.com.

2. What you are buying

A licence that allows a stated number of computers to back up to one BackupMate server for a stated period, normally one year. The licence is a key that you install on that server. It is issued for that server and does not work on another.

A paid licence also includes, for as long as it is in force: the updates we release, and support as described in section 6.

You are not buying storage, hardware, or a service that we run. BackupMate runs on your equipment, and your backups are stored on your equipment.

3. Price, tax and payment

Prices are as shown on the pricing page on the day you order, or as quoted to you in writing. Prices for customers in India are in Indian rupees and exclude GST, which is added at the applicable rate and shown on your invoice. Prices for customers elsewhere are in US dollars; any taxes or duties due in your country are your responsibility unless the invoice says otherwise.

Payment is due in full before a licence is issued. We issue an invoice for every purchase.

4. Delivery

The licence is delivered by email, normally within one working day of payment being received. Nothing physical is shipped.

5. Term, renewal and expiry

A licence runs from its start date to the expiry date stated in it. It does not renew automatically and we do not take repeat payments without a fresh order from you. We will normally remind you before it expires.

When a licence expires it continues to be honoured for 14 days. After that your server returns to the free plan: up to 3 computers continue to back up, and the others stop taking new backups until a licence is installed. Your existing backups are not deleted and restoring them is never restricted, whether or not a licence is in force.

If you need more computers during the term, you may buy a larger licence and pay the difference for the remaining period.

6. Support

Support is provided by email and WhatsApp message. We aim to give a first reply within 48 business hours. This is a target that we work hard to meet, not a guarantee.

Support covers installing, configuring and using BackupMate and recovering your files with it. It does not cover repairing your computers, network or other software, although we will usually tell you what we think is wrong.

7. Refunds

You may ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first purchase. The refund policy sets out how.

8. Your responsibilities

Backups depend on things only you control. You are responsible for: choosing what is backed up; keeping the server running and with enough disk space; keeping your encryption passphrase safe; acting on the alerts BackupMate sends; testing from time to time that you can restore; and keeping a second copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

9. Our liability

We will supply the licence and support with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows:

  • the software is provided as described in the licence agreement, without further warranties;
  • we are not liable for loss of data, loss of profit, business interruption or any indirect or consequential loss;
  • our total liability to you in connection with a purchase is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or removes rights that you have as a consumer under the law that applies to you.

10. Ending a licence

We may cancel a licence if payment for it is reversed, or if the software is used in breach of the licence agreement. If we do, the server returns to the free plan as in section 5, and your backups remain yours to restore.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The terms that apply to a purchase are those published on the day you made it.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Vadodara, Gujarat have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any rights you have as a consumer to bring a claim elsewhere. Please write to us first: most problems are sorted out by an email.

13. Complaints

If you have a complaint, write to pranay@buzzneuron.com. It reaches the owner of the business directly, and we will reply.
