“Not backing up — no seat” or a PC stopped by the licence

A PC says it is not backing up because of the licence, or the server's console lists it as not backing up — no seat.

Why

The server is covering more PCs than its licence, trial or free plan allows. PCs take seats in the order they were connected; the ones beyond the number allowed stop taking new backups.

Nothing is deleted, and restoring is never affected. Every PC can still get its files back.

What to do

• A PC you no longer use: in the server's console, Settings → Licence and machines, press Retire beside it. Its seat goes to the next PC at once. Its backups stay and can still be recovered.
• More PCs than the plan: buy or extend a licence, and install it on the same page.
• The licence expired: it keeps working for 14 days after its end date, then the server returns to the free plan of 3 PCs. Renewing restores the rest.
